I am reading the book about Oscar Wilde "Complete Short Fiction" and it is comprised of several different chapters such as :The happy prince and other tales, The portrait of Mr. W.H., A house of Pomegranates, Lord Arthur Savile´s crime and other stories, and the last one Poems in prose. But I have a question about a story that we have to choose and write about it. Should the name of the first title be contained this: "The Happy Prince and other tales"?

HI Gloria! You don't need to read any one particular story but "The Happy Prince" is one of the best ones and best known. Again, you don't have to write about any of them in particular, but I'd like you to choose the one you liked best at the moment. Inma, somewhere else, talks about "The Nightingale and the Rose" as the story she liked most. That is a beautiful short story, delicate and moving, but very sad. I myself find it difficult to understand the way in which the poor bird sacrifices himself for the student, who doesn't seem up to the task, really. Neither is the young lady who he is madly in love with, being both vain and unworhty of such huge sacrifice. Anyway, what do you think about it?

Hi! When I was asked about the story, I wanted to say that in my book under each title, there were several stories. For example, in "Happy Prince", it contained the following: The Happy Prince, The Nightingale and the rose, the Selfish Giant and others.
And the other chapters are the same way, there are other stories.
And according to what you wrote it about, the 'Nightingale' I agree that the story is nice but I think it is also a cruel story. In my opinion, the sacrifie of the bird wasn't worth it, because at the end of the story, she didn’t go with him to the dance, but the love of the bird was so enormous that it didn’t care about losing its life.
But every story has something special, because it teaches us many life lessons, such as selfishness, kindness, comradeship, friendship and many other things.
